My home is a one hundred years old English Tudor bungalow in the Belle Meade area that I have owned since 1975. Like many older homes with a basement, it has a dirt shelf in one half. The dirt had been eroding into a concrete floor for some time but I was reluctant to spend money to correct the problem and to find competent people to fix it was a challenge until I met John and Bruce from Barrier. I am not an engineer ( my Dad was) but I knew they could do what I needed done. The work they did far exceeded my expectations. Their workers are dedicated, conscientious and punctual. The owner of the business personally oversaw the work, and helped out to give his team a break, as breaking through the old concrete was not easy or fun! We were are very happy when we found them on the internet to help us with our outdoor drainage issues. John came several times to come up with solutions for our complex issue. He installed outdoor sump pumps and Spee-D channel drains to correct the problem. His employees were very hard workers, did an excellent job and cleaned up everything when they left. Our neighbor even said "they did a great job". We would recommend them and we will use them again, if needed.

My project was underground downspouts extension. All other companies gave quotes for three downspouts extension but BWS gave me one with all seven downspouts extension with PVC pipes including the front ones which required to make a hole under concrete slab. This is far thorough idea which I like considering climate change and more rainfalls in the future.It took three days, the 1st day digging the land, the 2nd day installing pipes, and the 3rd day covering the land. You never know what's under the ground even after having 811 mark all utility lines. There were downspout extension merged line with a neighbor and unmarked gas line for unused street light. Both made my neighbors upset, but BWS took care of it very responsibly and patiently. They were all kind and professional.

John and his team performed way beyond our expectations! When we learned that our foundation was beginning to sink we thought we were going to have to stop our remodeling. In a frantic attempt to find a solution we called Barrier and spoke with John. He was out at our home the next day looking everything over with us. Within 30 minutes he knew what was wrong, why we had water intrusion, and how we were going to fix it. We scheduled a time to have him lift the foundation and place piers to support it. It took 3 days in the sun and rain, but they not only lifted our building, they fixed cracks in the bricks, planted grass in all the areas they dug, and even placed hay to promote the new grass growth. His bid was also great in comparison to two other companies we asked to look at it. Do I recommend Barrier? YES!

Juan is the hardest working crewman we have ever seen. Arrived each morning on time. Did 90% of the work by hand and by himself in the sweltering heat!! Jose did the excavator work and was the site supervisor. Jose is great, was very nice and also communicated with us well. Bruce was great to work with and communication was top notch. John came to our home a couple of times to answer questions and review job site. Work was extensive but completed as quickly as possible and done sooner than expected since we were told new jobs were 10-12 weeks out on their schedule. (We expected Sept & it was done in Aug). Work was done in 14 days when I expected at least 3 weeks. Job done very well & they cleaned up our yard and completed all work as promised!! We can trust the work and are assured knowing we have a lifetime warranty and never have to worry about our basement leaking again. Thank you!!
